Gewehr 33/40/41/43

German WWII rifles designated under general "Gewehr" term. Gewehr 33/40 was a mountain troops rifle that had been shortened for mountain operations. It also had steel butt plate to enable the rifle to be used as climbing aid.

Gewehr 41 was a rather short-lived German semiautomatic rifle production that was soon replaced by model Gewehr 43 that had better semiautomatic system, which was copied from Soviet SVT designs that had been captured early on in the Operation Barbarossa (invasion of Soviet Union).
